Who we are
We are a small group of writers who travel slowly and come back with notes, not brochures. Pearlyklassen began as a shared document of hotel rooms, bus timetables and the places that were worth the detour. Today it reaches readers who want the honest version before they book.
Our mission
We help you travel better for less. Every week we publish free guides on destinations, hotels, city breaks, travel gear and budget travel: real 2026 costs, clear trade-offs and plans you can follow the same day you read them.
Editorial standards
No paid rankings and no sponsored picks inside our reviews. We pay for our own trips where we can, disclose anything hosted, and correct mistakes in public within 48 hours. Costs come from our own receipts and public transport data, never from press releases.
The team
Mara Vandenberg (Europe by rail), Kenji Arakawa (Japan and slow travel), Ines Ferreira (hotels and Portugal), Daniel Osei (loyalty and points), Lucia Moretti (city breaks) and a rotating bench of reviewers who check every guide before it ships.
